Bad Bunny wins Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards Sunday

Bad Bunny won the Grammy for Album of the Year for Debi Tirar Mas Fotos Sunday.

The music artist, born Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, fought tears as Harry Styles, who presented the honor, announced the news.

“I wanna dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland to follow their dreams,” Bad Bunny said during his acceptance speech.

Earlier in the evening, that same album won Bad Bunny the Best Musica Urbana Album Award, presented by Marcello Hernandez and Karol G.

“ICE out. We’re not savage. We’re not animals. We’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans,” he said. “The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love, so please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family. And that’s the way to do it. With love.”

Bad Bunny, who will perform during the Super Bowl LX halftime show in Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium, is not performing elsewhere in the United States this year amid Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids.

Olivia Dean, who was named Best New Artist, also mentioned immigration during her acceptance speech.

The singer, 26, also fought tears as she accepted her award, which was presented by last year’s winner Chappell Roan.

“I never really imagined that I would be up here, let alone nominated, so thank you so much,” she said. “I guess I wanna say I’m up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I am a product of bravery and I think those people deserve to be celebrated.”

Billie Eilish, who won Best Song for “Wildflower” said, “No one is illegal on stolen land… Our voices really do matter and the people matter.”

Kendrick Lamar won two awards Sunday. His honors included Best Rap Album for GNX, presented by Queen Latifah and Doechii, and Record of the Year for “Luther” with SZA, presented by the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award winner Cher.

“Never give up on you dream, no matter what happens,” she said. “Live it, be it. And if it’s not happening now, it’ll be happening soon.”

Jeff Goldblum and Lainey Wilson presented Jelly Roll with the Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, while Charli xcx announced that Lola Young won Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Messy.”

Teyana Taylor and Nikki Glaser presented Lady Gaga with the honor for Best Pop Vocal Album for Mayhem.

Lady Gaga was also among the performers who took to the stage Sunday. She wore a red and black feathered blouse, black-sequined skirt and black-wicker hat as she sang “Abracadabra.”

Pusha T and Malice, who together form Clipse, performed alongside Pharrell Williams, who was earlier honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.

Justin Bieber, took to the stage in a pair of boxers to sing “Yukon,” and Bruno Mars performed “I Just Might.”

Other performers included Sabrina Carpenter, The Marias, Addison Rae, KATSEYE, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, Young, Dean, sombr, and Tyler the Creator.

Bruce Springsteen shared a tribute for Brian Wilson, who died in June, while John Mayer shared a tribute for Bobby Weir, who died Jan. 10.

Reba McEntire sang “Trailblazer” to honor other late music artists before Post Malone performed “War Pigs” alongside Andrew Wyatt, Chad Smith, Duff McKagan and Slash to honor the late Ozzy Osbourne.

Lauryn Hill performed to honor D’Angelo and Roberta Flack, who died in October and February, respectively.

Trevor Noah hosted the event at the Crypto.com Arena for his sixth and final time.

Winners across 86 categories were announced during Sunday afternoon’s Grammy Premiere ceremony.

Thomas won the Best R&B Album Award for MUTT and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Vibes Don’t Lie.”

Kehlani’s song “Folded” won her the Best R&B Performance honor.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande won the award for Best Pop Duo / Group Performance for “Defying Gravity,” while Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” won the Best Dance Pop Recording.
