Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion has signed on to star in the Broadway stage musical, Moulin Rouge!
“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honor,” Megan Thee Stallion said in a press release Thursday.
“I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me.”
The artist will play Zidler, the manipulative owner of the titular nightclub, from March 24 through May 17.
Previous stars to play the role include Boy George, Tituss Burgess, Bob the Drag Queen, Wayne Brady and Danny Burstein.
The production opened in 2019 and is expected to close in July.
