Lizzo announced her new album on Monday. Bitch will be her third studio album, available June 5.

The singer, who turns 38 today, will release the title track at midnight Friday.

“Bitch” incorporates Meredith Brooks’ 1997 song of the same name. It is on brand for the “Truth Hurts” singer, which included lyrics “I’m 100% that bitch.”

“Reclaiming the word Bitch is power,” Lizzo said in a statement. It’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love.”

Lizzo continued to credit Brooks.

“So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliot,” she said.

She released “Don’t Make Me Love U” from the new album in March. She will also release the children’s book Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’ on Sept. 8 and playing Sister Rosetta Tharpe in the movie Rosetta.
