Girl group Blackpink’s third mini-album Deadline is continuing its craze with the album, music and music video all becoming box office hits as soon as it was released.

According to the music industry on the 2nd, Deadline, which was released on the 27th of last month, sold 1,479,220 copies as of the 1st of this month according to Hanteo Chart, ranking 1st on the weekly chart.

They sold 1.46 million copies on the day of release, setting a new record for the highest single-day sales for a K-pop girl group, and then sold close to 1.5 million copies in just three days.

YG Entertainment stated, “Global demand for the album has greatly exceeded our initial expectations, and we are currently in the process of additional production,” adding, “We ask for your continued anticipation for the new record that BLACKPINK will once again create.”

Deadline also topped iTunes’ Top Albums charts in 38 countries worldwide. All songs on the album also reached the top ranks on China’s largest music platform, QQ Music.

The new album’s title song “GO” is currently ranking high on major domestic music charts, including Melon’s Top 100.

As of this afternoon, the song’s music video has surpassed 32 million views and ranked first on YouTube’s daily trending music videos. The “Go” music video has received rave reviews for its dazzling CG directing and captivating visuals, which harmonize with the song’s powerful sound.
