Billy Idol will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 2026 American Music Awards.

CBS announced in a press release Thursday that Idol, 70, will receive the award at the 52nd annual AMAs ceremony May 25 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The AMAs Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates a music artist’s career and body of work, and continued influence on artists and fans. Previous recipients include Diana Ross and Rod Stewart.

Idol will perform a medley of his biggest hits at the AMAs, marking his first-ever performance at the awards show and his first appearance at the event since presenting in 2004.

The British rock singer is known for such hits as “Dancing with Myself,” “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face” and “Cradle of Love,” and released his ninth album, Dream Into It, in 2025.

He will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November.
